A very practical pedestal or wine table hand painted with a black top and a blue stem.
When I picked this table up it really was on its last legs but after a few gentle tweaks I managed to get the table top level and the 3 legs to sit correctly.
Using a technique with gesso (plaster) I created a textured finish to create the feel of aged paint of layer upon layer over many years. The black to the top is actually a very dark brown pigment whereas the blue to the stem is actually a mix or green with teal pigments over a pale grey undercoat.
A sweet little table that would be well suited to a living room or hallway to create character against a more contemporary space.
