A 1950s dressing table with single drawer.
This is a gorgeous kidney shaped dressing table painted in soft pink with a cream top.
If you're familiar with my style of painting you will know that I really love the worn look that vintage furniture has. It not only gives the furniture a really unique look but also transforms the atmosphere of a room.
For the top I used an off white tempera paint from the Dario Biagioni collection and for the body, including the perfectly fitted shaped drawer, I chose another tempera from Dario's collection but also mixed in with a little plumb to create a slightly more buff pink. The brass, swan neck drop handle on the drawer is the original ironmongery and really does suit this style of table.
The kidney shaped top makes it a delight to sit up close but for me the legs are so amazing. Long & slender cabriole legs give this dressing table a slight French feel.
Perfect size for any bedroom but could equally be used as an occasional table or writing desk. When painting this I always imagined it in a quaint room with the sunlight coming through the window and a lovely little velvet upholstered chair.
