These would have originally been for storing candles. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has a solid plinth base that sits directly on the floor so no dust can get beneath it making it easy to clean around. It has a sturdy metal drop handle to each side end making it easy to pick up and move.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe condition of the pine when I acquired it was in a bit of a mess and so keeping in line with its age and heavy use over its life I chose to paint this with a very heavy patina.
